Located in Budapest at the beautiful Hotel Gellert, this Masterclass is a photographer’s dream. Not only will you build your portfolio and sharpen your photography skills as you practice in one of the most scenic places in the world, but you’ll learn under the hands of two of the world’s most admired portrait and wedding photographers in what is sure to be the best professional photography Master Class since the Renaissance!

Photographers of all skill levels are welcome. During the week each student will learn from both instructors—giving you double the creativity and inspiration—and bringing your photography skills and your artistic passion to a level you never dreamed of.

David and Clay will teach you the most creative lighting and compositional techniques ever! You will learn several new ways to make your lighting exciting. And they'll show you how to get the best lighting on your subject the first time, every time. Whether you use on-camera flash, off-camera flash or no flash at all, they will teach you how easy it is to make your images come to life when you learn to “see the light.” Lighting topics covered include how to light men, women, couples and groups. Learn how to take Ultimate window-light portraits and to harness the power and beauty of natural light and how the creative use of inexpensive reflectors can turn your portrait into a masterpiece.

David and Clay will also teach you to understand the secrets of composition. They will show you how easy it is to pre-visualize the image in your "mind's eye." Once you know the compositional secrets they teach, you too will see how easy it is to create that exciting image time after time in any location. Hand-in-hand with the art of composition, you’ll learn the art of posing also, including how to pose men, women, couples, and groups, and how to position hands and feet for elegance and style.

David and Clay also cover the best lenses and focal lengths to use and what the best camera settings are to use to create that dramatic image. They’ll methodically teach you, step by step, tried-and-true, easy-to-understand techniques to produce that dramatic image every time.

The class will go from sunup to sundown…and then some. Be prepared for 12-hour class days. You will eat, drink, and sleep photographic creativity!

The four star Danubius Hotel Gellért is a beautiful historic hotel built in 1916 on banks of the Buda side of the Danube River. Hotel Gellért’s nickname is ”the first lady of Hungarian tourism”. Gellért is one of the most famous historical hotels in Europe Gellért spa, which includes a swimming pool and plaza built into the hotel, is considered to be the most beautiful spa in all of Budapest.

Excursions
There will be one official class excursion to the stunning city of Vienna, one of the crown jewels of European cities. We will depart via bus on Friday September 13th (no superstitious people allowed) early in the morning and return back to the hotel late that night. Vienna is a two-hour drive from the hotel.
Meals
All meals are provided on the class days. Breakfast is included for ALL 7 DAYS of your stay. Lunch and dinner will be catered at the hotel for 2 of the days and at a local restaurant for the other. Dinner will be fantastic! We have chosen three of the best restaurants in all of Budapest where we will dine on exquisite cuisine whose culinary artistry matches the visual artistry of the class. On the day of the excursion to Vienna, breakfast will be served at the hotel. Everyone is on their own for lunch, and then we will meet as a group to experience the fantastic taste of Vienna at a fine restaurant that represents the best of Viennese cooking. Of course, this being Europe, wine is INCLUDED!
Weather
Temperatures in Budapest will average a very pleasant 73 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and 54 degrees at night, so jackets/sweaters are recommended. The chance of rain is minimal, but bring a light rain jacket just in case.
What To Bring
Camera Gear: Your camera, your best lenses, speedlight flashes (if you have them), a reflector, and a laptop.

Clothing and Toiletries: There are laundry facilities at the hotel, but no dryers, so it’s best to bring all the clothing you need for the week. Plan on bringing whatever toiletries you need with you as brands and availability will be different than what you are used to in your home country.
Currency
Hungary uses the Forint, which is widely traded with the Dollar, British Pound, and the Euro. The Forint has been exchanging at a rate of roughly 225 forints to the Dollar recently. Anything imported into Hungary will cost roughly the same price you are used to paying after the exchange. Hungarian goods, including food, are generally much less expensive than similar goods in the US, Canada, or Europe. I advise against changing currency at the airport, as it is much more expensive than using venues in the city and most establishments take credit cards. Your best option if you need Forints and are not at a currency exchange place is to use an ATM or Bancomat.
Price
$2,495 per person attending the class which includes accommodations for seven nights, all meals on class days, all education and trips during the week including the excursion to Vienna. Prices start at just $500 additional for spouses/friends who are not attending class but will share your room. Discounts are available for multiple people. Please call us at 202-448-2895 for details.

You may pay in full $2,495 total or take advantage of an EZPAY Plan which breaks payments into three parts. If you choose EZPAY, a $900 deposit is required to reserve your spot, $850 is due on April 1st, and the balance of $850 is due June 1st ($2600 total).
